Parking Spaces at ITS

Malta Independent Saturday, 30 June 2012, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

The reconfiguration of the traffic system as well as the upgrading of the road structure in the vicinity of the Institute of Tourism Studies in Pembroke is most welcome; except for the fact that it has drastically reduced the amount of parking slots available.

It has now become a nightmare to find a parking place available, and this problem is set to grow when more people go to the beach when school days are over, in particular during the weekend.

I have one suggestion to make: The tens of parking slots available within the ITS complex should be open to the public to ease this problem.

This should be done at a nominal fee of €1 per car, and I am sure that this will bring in some money for the ITS as well as make it much easier for people to find a parking place.

It is such a pity that so much space is wasted in an area which cries for more parking slots.
