Shooting: Clive Farrugia Wins Mosta Bacon Skeet Trophy

Clive Farrugia won yesterday’s Mosta Bacon Skeet Trophy at the Malta Shooting Sport Federation ranges in Bidnija.

The competiton was based on a first round of 125 clays with the best six qaulifying for the final barrage on a further 25 clays.

Clive Farrugia was in front after the first round when he managed a total of 116 from a maximum of 125. He was closely followed by Darren Vella who hit 115 clays, whilst Joe Muscat and and Jason Sciberras both totalled 113 in the first phase.

Noel Agius and Jason Agius completed the top six hitting 109 and 104 respectively.

In this first phase four straights of 25 clays from 25 were registered. These were obtained by Joe Muscat who managed two straights, whilst Darren Vella and overall winner Clive Farrugia made a straight each.

In the final barrage Clive Farrugia kept his cool hitting 24 out of 25. The same score was obtained by Noel Scicluna. Jason Agius hit 23 in the barrage, and Joe Muscat and Darren Vella both hit 22.

Clive Farrugia was declared with a total of 140 clays from a maximum of 150, followed by Darren Vella with a total of 137 and Joe Muscat finished in third place with a total of 135.
