I write in reference to the letter by Naeen Sidiqi (TMID, 29 June) with regard to rubbish on the beach.
This is the state of despair that Tourism Malta Jewel in The Mediterranean is in, where beaches are to be found. I wish that the authorities concerned roll up their sleeves and start doing something about it.
It is very nice to hear that we get Blue Flag status for certain beaches which are managed but what about the multitude of kilometres of beach stretches and areas that are not taken care of and neglected all for the sake of penny-pinching?
I may sound negative when I bring these points to light, however at the same time I am ashamed to come across visitors and tax payers who have to face these issues.
Come on – please let’s get the sense of ‘Customer and tax payer care and satisfaction’ and put words into action. There is a department in the MTA which is responsible for all this. Let’s love where we live and keep it tidy for our sake.
