Hibernians and Malta international Clayton Failla was yesterday named as the MFA’s Footballer of the Year.

He was presented with the trophy by the MFA president, Norman Darmanin Demajo, during the Awards presentation ceremony at the Grand Hotel Excelsior yesterday evening.

For Clayton Failla this was the second time he won the award after winning at the end of season 2008-09.

The otherwinners yesterday were Naxxar’s darren Falzon in Division One, Gzira’s Simon Shead in Division Two and Fgura’s Matthew Spiteri in Division Three.

Rachel Cuschieri of Birkirkara won the Women’s League best player award, and another Hibernians player Johann Bezzina won the best player of the Youth League.

Noel Bray of Naxxar Motors won the Futsal best player award.
