On Saturday the second game between the Malta select team versus the Rest took place with the Selection beating The Rest.
The Malta team batted first. Nowell Khosla and Dave Borg opened the innings. Borg who is fine form continued by hitting 22 runs from 17 balls faced which included two sixes. Nowell Khosla made 18 runs from 19 balls.
Justin Brooke, who last week had a very slow innings, made a massive improvement scoring 24 runs from 21 balls and was run out by a direct throw from Ewan Perens, which left him stranded by a few inches.
Frank Spiteri batted well for 16 runs, Sunny Krishna made eight runs. Ronnie Sacco again impressed scoring 27 runs from seventeen balls which included three fours.
The Malta team scored 139 runs from their allotted overs. Kevin Krishna and Bikram Arora were the main wicket takers with two each , while Ewan Perens and Wasseem Abbas took a wicket each.
In reply, Simon Lavendar and Harron Majeed opened the innings. They were off to a flyer until Majeed was caught, he made 16 runs from 15 balls and included two fours. Lavendar went on to top score for his team. He made a run a ball 44 which included two sixes.
Joy Ghoseroy struggled with a 20-ball 14 runs. Bikram (16) and Pragnesh (20) were making the Malta team sweat, but once they were out, the Malta team were able to control the game.
The Rest made 124 runs from their 20 overs. For the Malta team, Dave Borg, Mike Caruana and Ronnie Sacco took two wickets each. The Malta select team won the second game.
Next week the Marsa team play returning Stockport Grammar School who will be on their 12th tour.
