Etienne Bonello has inched closer to retain his Time Trial National Championship after winning the second round held at Zebbug Bypass last month.

The Team Greens rider clocked the 21km distance in 29:36 setting the first national mark on the new course. Steve Sciberras of Mosta AF Sign Studio was second 11 seconds slower than Bonello whilst Jason Vella of Team Team Greens finished in third spot 7 seconds away from Sciberras. The 5 lap race was contested by over 70 riders hailing from the seven local clubs.

The race was organised by the Malta Cycling Fedration in conjuction with the local Clubs.

The next event will take place this tomorrow at San Pawl By Pass with the final round of the Road Race National Championship. Race starts at 7:30am
