Valletta should be facing another easy match this evening in Andorra La Vella as they play the second leg of their first qualifying round tie against Andorran champions FC Lusitans.
In the first leg last week in Malta, Valletta scored a record 8-0 win thus making sure of a berth in the second round, barring any major surprise.
In that match, Mark Miller’s boys proved to be living in a different street than their opponents and the result could have been more convincing had City pressed for more in the second half.
Valletta not only became the first Maltese team to obtain the best result in European competitions but the match also saw Malta captain Michael Mifsud scoring four goals, a great achievement no Maltese player ever managed to achieve in 50 years of participation in European competitions.
The Valletta squad consists of:
Goalkeepers: Manuel Bartolo, Yenz Cini, Andre Krul.
Defenders: Ian Azzopardi, Steve Borg, Jonathan Caruana, Ricardo Da Rocha Filho, Jusselio Da Silva.
Midfielders: Edmond Agius, Gilbert Agius, William Barbosa, Roderick Briffa, Dyson Falzon, Ryan Fenech, Cleavon Frendo, Kevin Sammut.
Strikers: Jhonnattann Benites, Michael Mifsud, Denni Rocha Dos Santos.
The match kicks off at 7.30 pm (local time) and will be controlled by referee Huw Jones from Wales.
