Birkirkara FC yesterday figured in a goalless draw in Macedonia against Metalurg Skopje in the return match of the Europa League first Preliminary round.

The teams were tied on a 2-2 aggregate score but by virtue of the two gaols scored in Malta in the first leg, Metalurg advanced to the next round.

This leaves the Stripes with a bitter feeling after dominating the first match at home but failing to win.

Yesterday, Birkirkara were also unlucky to be denied by the woodwork on a Shodiya .

Thus all three clubs participating in the Europa League again failed to make it beyond the first qualifying round.
