Antica Gelateria del Corso is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the creation of its iconic Tartufo with the launch of a delicious limited edition of Tartufo al Pistacchio. It was a happy intuition in 1982 by Antica Gelateria del Corso that lead the great Italian ice-cream factory to create a new form of dessert – the Tartufo. Since that happy day this delightful dessert has gone on to become a timeless classic of Antica Gelateria del Corso. This version of Tartufo is available at leading restaurants and cafeterias around Malta and Gozo.
To celebrate its 30th birthday, AGDC have this year launched a new Tartufo al Pistacchio. This brings together an incredibly creamy pistachio ice cream with a rich velvety chocolate ice cream and a tantalising hazelnut centre. Crunchy chopped pistachios and chocolate biscuit then top all this. This new “gem” of ice cream, created by the ice-cream masters of the Parma laboratory, is a tribute to one of the greatest success stories in the history of Italian ice cream.
Alfred Borg, Nestle’ Malta Corporate Communications manager said: “This is a remarkable milestone for Antica Gelateria del Corso. With the introduction of the new Tartufo al Pistacchio our clients will rediscover all those exquisite characteristics of the Italian ice-cream and the distinctiveness of our products.”
Il Tartufo can also be enjoyed in the classic variations – Tartufo Cioccolato, with a panna flavoured centre embodied in a cocoa ice cream and covered in cocoa powder, and the Tartufo Panna in which the delicate panna ice-cream is mixed with crushed meringue grains and a soft filling of coffee flavoured ice-cream.
