Shooting - Brian Galea Wins Southern Shooters Trap Grand Prix

Brian Galea was in top form this weekend to win The Southern Shooters Trap Grand Prix 2012 organised at Hal Far Shooting ranges. This Grand Prix was on 125 clays Trap, with the top six to qualify for the barrage finals of another 25 clays single shot. A second barrage final was organised for the best two shooters of each class, A,B & C.

In the Barrage A, Brian Galea placed first with 116 clays out of 125, with an additional 19 in the final barrage for a total of 135 out of 150. Silvio Attard placed second with 115 in the first round and another 19 in the final barrage for a total of 134 out of 150. Third-placed was Jason J. Aquilina with a total of 133 with 114 in the first round and another 19 in the final barrage.

Nazzareno Attard placed fourth with 111 in the first round, and a further 21 clays in the final barrage for a total of 132.

Stephen Vella placed fifth with 110 out of 125 in the first barrage, and 18 out of 25 in the final barrage, for a total of 128 clays out of 150.

Nicky Carabott placed sixth with 110 in the first round and a further 13 in the final barrage for a total of 123.

In Barrage B Class A, Stanley Cardona placed first with 126 clays, 105 iin the first round and 21 in the final barrace. Paul Formosa was second with 106 clays in the first round and a further 19 in the final barrage totalling to 125.

In Barrage B Class B, Carmel Mallia placed first with 111 hits, 94 in the first round and a further 17 in the final round, with Micheal Grech placing second with 97 hits in the first round and 9 in the final barrage for a total of 106.

In Barrage B Class C, Sheizan Borg placed first with 89 shots in the first round and 16 in the final barrage for a total of 105 clays.

Joe Cutajar placed second with a total of 100 clays, 89 in the first round and 11 in the final barrage.
