A serious accident is waiting to happen on Valley Road, Birkirkara.

I have been regularly jogging through the street at night in recent weeks, and the way some cars are being driven is terrifying to say the least. Many seem to believe that a long straight road ahead is a sufficient excuse for reckless driving at speeds which clearly exceed legal limits. But since the road is only wide enough for a single lane of traffic both ways, the situation is even more dangerous when these would-be racers overtake another car travelling at a normal speed.

I have already seen two near-misses this summer, as these speeders paid little attention to the cars heading in the opposite direction, also at high speeds. I fear I will end up seeing something worse if I stick to my exercise routine.
