Obinna Obiefule, last season’s record breaking striker with 34 goals to his credit, is to remain at Mosta FC.
The Blues have confirmed that the player has agreed to a three-year extension of his contract at the club which is aiming for a Top Six berth this season.
Obiefule had been sounded by some clubs in Europe and in Algeria, but he has now decided to stay at Mosta. He is the second major signing after the club decided to sign national team goalkeeper Justin Haber at the weekend.
Meanwhile, Hamrun Spartans have announced that they have signed Under 21 international Terence Vella on a one-year loan from Birkirkara.
Vella, who last season played for Mosta where he was on loan, was among the group of players that left Malta yesterday for a 10-day training camp in Bulgaria.
