Motor-Sport - Concours D’Elegance 2012 at Mdina in October

Malta Independent Wednesday, 18 July 2012, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

Following the success of last year’s event the foundation will again be holding a Concours d’Elegance in the Cathedral Square on Friday 12 October.

Once again the event will be comparable to the classic shows of the 30s and 50s when participants dressed up to show their cars.

Participants are encouraged to dress in costume of a style pertaining to the year of manufacture of their vehicle.

This year the judges will put even more importance on how the participants are dressed, and it will be almost impossible for a participant to win his class if he does not make the effort to dress accordingly.

Points will also be awarded for a suitably dressed accompanying female.

There will be classes for pre-war, post war, popular classics, and motorbikes. The cut-off date is 1975. Prizes will be awarded to each class winner.

It is likely that the event will be over-subscribed.  No two cars of the same type will be accepted, and the final selection will be made before 15 September.

An administration fee of €25 is being charged.
