Malta Independent Sunday, 22 July 2012, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

Laura Pausini’s Inedito World Tour will hit Malta on 1 August at 9.30pm at the MFCC Ta Qali Open Grounds.

The concert forms part of the Inedito World Tour, which kicked off in Milan and continues its successful run over one-year period in which Pausini will perform around the world.

The production is made in Italy but in setting up the new Inedito World Tour, she has selected top international professionals to be by her side, starting with director Marco Balich, who created the Ceremonies for the Turin Winter Olympics in 2006, and many other major events at the global level, including the Bicentenary of Mexico, the opening of the Juventus Stadium, and who for the first time will direct an all-Italian show for Laura Pausini’s Inedito World Tour 2011/2012.

The stage, where a classic Italian production blends the utmost in rock aggressiveness, changes continuously during the concert; each song is highlighted by different effects. For the first time, Laura will have a dance group, who will perform choreographies by world-renowned choreographer Nikos Lagousakos. And then video projections, special effects, and video-mapping, which make the show an exceptional event at the global level, and certainly the most sophisticated, poetic, and all-encompassing tour ever put on the road by an Italian artist.

Gold marks the opening, followed by red for ‘passion’, and then the stage suddenly turns into an explosion of nature. Costumes, accessories, videos and sets: every single element has been tailor-made for this special occasion by an international team of top level quality and experience. The collaboration with British architect Mark Fisher, for instance, set designer for Pink Floyd and U2, and creator of one-of-a-kind sets for the Cirque du Soleil, at his first ever contribution to an Italian production, and Patrick Woodroffe (lighting designer for leading pop and rock artists, including Bob Dylan, Ac/Dc, Depeche Mode, Rolling Stones, and who had recently been working on This is it, Michael Jackson’s last, never-completed show.

Catherine Buyse, costume supervisor for movies like Star Wars, The Italian Job and The Tourist has personally created part of the clothing of the tour. One of the most highly regarded fashion designer in the world has also collaborated in the Inedito World Tour: Roberto Cavalli, who created some special dresses for Laura.

Pausini will take to the stage with her historical backing band, led by Paolo Carta on guitar, who will also act as musical director, brothers Emiliano and Matteo Bassi respectively on drums and bass, Bruno Zucchetti on piano and programming and Robertà Granà with Gianluigi Fazio on backing vocals. Two new additions will be made to Laura’s time-tested team: Monica Hill on backing vocals and Nicola Oliva on guitar.

The set list is compiled with over 30 songs: Surrender, La solitudine, Benvenuto, Non ho mai smesso, just to mention a few.

The Inedito World Tour is being produced for the first time by Silvia and Laura Pausini for GenteMusic. Italian promoter is F&P Group.
