The ame Cup will kick off tonight with the first two matches at The Luxol Stadium in St Andrew’s.

Eight Premier League sides will be taking part in this first edition of the competition.

These eight sides were divided in two groups with the first two qualifying for the semi finals. Qormi, Birkirkara, Sliema Wanderers, and Rabat Ajax are in Group a, with Balzan Youths, Mosta, Tarxien Rainbows and Hamrun Spartans forming Group B.

The third and fourth placed sides in the group will play for the play-offs to determine final placings from 5th to 8th place.

The round robbin phase comes to an end on Monday 30 July.

The semi finals will be played on Thursday 2 August, with Saturday 4 August reserved for the 5th to 8th final placings.

The tournament will come to an end on Sunday 5 August with the match for 3rd and 4th place and the final for the winner which will be played at 8.30pm.

In today’s matches from Group A, Birkirkara face Sliema Wanderers and Qormi play against newly promoted Rabat Ajax.
