Birkirkara FC are giving number of foreign players a trial as they intend strengthening their squad.
According to the club’s official website, these include Zoran Vuckovic, a Serbian midfielder, who came up from the ranks of Novi Sad, and has been training with Paul Zammit’s squad for the past three weeks.
Kevin Olivieira is a Dutch striker, who played last with Mitra Kukar FC in Indonesia Before that he had been with Roda JC and NAC Breda in Holland. He trained for the first time with the Stripes yesterday.
Two others are central defender Jusselio Donizete and striker Johnnattan Benites da Conceiçao, both Brazilian players, who for the past few weeks had been training with Valletta, but were not retained by the champions.
The wensite also revealed that the club is also in advanced negotiations with a Spanish defender and another Brazilian striker, who might join the squad next week to start their trial.
The website also said that the club is intensifying its efforts to conclude the signing of two local players that have been in the club’s plans from the beginning of June. Agreement with their respective clubs has not been reached yet.
