Please refer to the letter by your correspondent Matthew Camilleri on what he chose to term as a Contradiction (TMID, 25 July).
I stand by my claim in my article, that Austin Gatt could step down to buy peace (TMID, 24 July) – that the usual suspects, who are incidentally household names by now, initially went ballistic the moment JPO declared himself an Independent MP only to go completely silent a few hours later - evidently due to instructions from above - not to rock the boat and jeopardise a flimsy and volatile coalition of convenience.
What Mr Camilleri chose to dismiss as paranoia is on the contrary substantiated by the relevant time lines.
