Seeking Krasnov

Malta Independent Sunday, 29 July 2012, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

Under the auspices of the Russian Cultural Centre, an executive board is currently researching documents, photographs, works of art and any other related material connected to Nikolay Krasnov, the Russian architect and artist who settled in Malta in April 1919. He reached Malta together with the renowned Princess Nathalie Putyatin, the celebrated sculptor Boris Edwards and the painter I. Perov. Krasnov unfortunately left Malta with his wife and daughter to the new state of Yugoslavia only after a period of three years.

During his rather brief stay in Malta, he executed decorative and fascinating pictures mainly in watercolour. Our aim is to gather as much information as possible for an entire publication due to be published in October.

Interested parties are to write to [email protected] with details.
