I can’t understand why in the draft for the IVF legislation, cloning was included, as I cannot understand why some religious people are against cloning.

If one believes in God, then God created cloning. Scientists don’t invent anything; they just discover the laws of nature, which God created.

We see cloning in plants and now we see it in animals. It is up to us to introduce it in humans. With cloning, the generation gap would be drastically reduced and in divorce cases the parties concerned would just take their clone thus avoiding long-drawn litigation.

As regards gays, if God is the creator, then he created gays. He did this in humans and animals. Animals have no problem with gay behaviour. Why we should have problems is beyond me.

Also, in the draft, it was suggested that only two eggs should be used. This is going against God’s principles for God allows the waste of so many eggs in a woman’s lifetime. Every month, unless a woman is pregnant, she loses an egg. In animals so many eggs, fertilized or not, do not make it to maturity. For God, eggs and sperm are not sacred. Men waste so much sperm, or are we now to consider eggs more sacred than sperm.

I hope that the draft on IVF will be liberally revised.
