Rangers narrowly avoided humiliation in its first ever match outside the top tier of Scottish football, needing a 90th minute equalizer from Andy Little to draw at Peterhead 2-2 in Division Three yesterday.

The 54-time Scottish champions were relegated to the fourth tier, Scotland's lowest professional league, because of tax debts exceeding $30 million.

Teen Barrie McKay gave Rangers the lead in the 27th at Balmoor, watched by a capacity crowd of around 4,000. Peterhead struck back with second half goals from Rory McAllister and Scott McLaughlin.
