Seasoned Trap shooter Frans Pace made a comeback for yesterday’s competition with flying colours to win The Cassar Cup hitting 48 from 50 in the first round and an impressive barrage final of 23 single barrels out of a possible 25 for a total of 71 from a maximum of 75.
James Galea who finsihed fourth overall, had a very good start hitting 48 in the first round, but could only hit 17 in the barrage to finish fourth with a total of 65 clays.
A shootoff was necesaary second place as both Jeffrey Pisani and George Cassar finished with a total of 66, obtaining both 47 in th first round and 19 in the barrage. The shootoff was won by Jeffrey Pisani who claimed second spot.
Noel Attard and Silvio Attard were the others to make it to the final six, both finishing with a total of 63 clays.
Next weekend The Malta Shooting Sport Federation will be organizing The All Malta 2012 Trap Competition with 75 clays on Saturday 18th and 50 clays on Sunday 18th August with the top six to qualify for a barrage final on Sunday afternoon.
