Victoria Local council, please note

Malta Independent Saturday, 18 August 2012, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

Now that roadworks in Victoria seem to be completing soon, it would be highly appreciated if the 20-metre stretch of road that links Victoria to Wied Żejta and to Xagħra is given a good layer of tarmac.

This road was used extensively during the long months when Republic Street was closed off to traffic and now the holes on this road offer stiff competition to the craters on the moon!

The initial part of the road (off Europa Street and onto the valley) clearly falls under the responsibility of the Victoria local council. A sign ‘Welcome to Xagħra’ demarcates the road and shows which local council should be undertaking maintenance work on this part of the road.

Every street around this road was given tarmac and now it is high-time that the same is done for this small stretch of road (And not the useless exercise of filling in the holes with cold tarmac which hardly lasts one week).

Victoria local council please take action.
