Third-seeded Roberta Vinci won the Texas Open yesterday, beating second-seeded Jelena Jankovic 7-5, 6-3 in the U.S. Open tuneup event.

Italian Vinci has seven career WTA Tour singles titles, four of them in the past year.

Serbia's Jankovic, the former No.1, has not won a singles title since 2010 at Indian Wells.
