Shooting: Joe Muscat Wins Skeet Competition

Yesterday Joe Muscat, won a skeet competition organised by the Malta Shooting Sport Federation (MSSF) in its ranges in Bidnija.

Muscat had a very good start where he hit 25 out of 25 in the first round, and then hit a further 22 out of 25 in the second round, thus qualifying in second place for the final barrage.

Darren Vella was in the lead after the first two rounds, after hitting 24 out of 24, for a total of 48 clays out of 50.

Noel Scicluna also qualified for the final barrage, with a total of 45 clays out of 50, with Ian Grima qualifying with a total of 41 hits, Jason Sciberras with a total of 40, u and Bob Dimitri closing the list with 39 clays.

It was in the final barrage that Joe Muscat eventually took the lead, when he hit 23 clays, as opposed to Darren Vella’s 21 hits. Musct thus won hte competition with a total of 70 hits out of a maximum total of 75 clays. Darren Vella was second with a total of 69 hits.

Noel Scicluna came third with a total of 65 hits, hitting just 20 clays in the final barrage.

Jason Sciberras came fourth, closely followed by Ian Grima and Bob Dimitri.
