Brian Galea was the overall winner of the Franwin Trap Trophy yesterday during a competition organised by the Malta Shooting Sport Federation (MSSF) at their shooting ranges in Bidnija.

Brian Galea commenced with a perfect straight of 25 hits out of 25 in the first round, followed by 24 hits out of 25 in the second round, to qualify for the final barrage with 49 clays out of a maximum of 50.

In the final barrage, Galea hit a total of 19 clays out of 25, to end in first place of the competition with a total of 68 clays out of a total maximum of 75 clays.

Jeffery Pisani placed second. He hit a total of 46 clays out of 50 in the first two rounds, to qualify for the final barrage, where he hit a further 18 out of 25, for a final tally of 64 clays out of 75.

Stephen Vella placed third. He hit a total of 45 clays out of a maximum of 50 in the first and second round. In the final barrage he hit a further 18 for a total of 63 clays out of a possible 75.

Silvio Attard placed fourth, where he hit 47 clays out of 50 in round one and two, hitting a further 16 in the final barrage for a total of 63 out of 75.

Since both Stephen Vella and Silvio Attard had a tally of 63 hits after the final barrage, a shoot-off took place between the two, where Vella placed third in front of Attard.

George Cassar was fifth with a total of 61 clays in all. He hit 46 clays ouf of a maximum of 50 in the first and second round, and a further 15 in the final barrage.

Frank Scorfna placed sixth with a total of 60 clays, 45 hits in the first two rounds, and 15 in the final barrage.
