The Palace Hotel is collaborating with the Valletta Grand Prix Foundation for the forthcoming Mdina Grand Prix next month. Under this sponsorship agreement, the Palace will be hosting visiting journalists and offering a venue for the event's press conferences.
Signing the sponsorship agreement on behalf of the hotel, Angelo Xuereb, Chairman of AX Holdings, said that the partnership signified the hotel's support of the aims of the Mdina Grand Prix and it upholds its mission to provide a successful crowd-puller event.
"Over the past five years, the Palace has supported a number of local and cultural events through its marketing efforts. We believe that through the sponsorship of events like the Mdina Grand Prix, we are helping Malta to enhance its tourist product," he explained.
A spokesman for the Valletta Grand Prix Foundation said that this year's event will see no less than 80 participants in the race which will take place around the Mdina bastions.
"The three-day event will include a Concours d'Elegance where the best local classic cars will be joined by foreign participants," he added.
Around 25,000 spectators are expected to attend the event which conjures up images of stunning classic cars, international celebrity drivers, glamorous stars and global brand owners.
