Proposed IVF Law is discriminatory

Malta Independent Saturday, 15 September 2012, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

Żminijietna – Voice of the Left calls the proposed IVF law as discriminatory. The government should not introduce laws that discriminate against minorities. Politics should not be used to safeguard the interests of certain categories, but should protect the interests of each of us in society.

An inclusive policy should assure that IVF service is accessible to all, where nobody shall be discriminated against, on any grounds. We affirm that a professional counselling service should also be introduced, to help the people involved make their choice with a more open mind.

Żminijietna calls upon the members of parliament to give a more, wider definition of family types when this law will be debated in parliament. MGRM, LGBT, Alternattiva Demokratika, the Communist Party of Malta and Moviment Graffitti are all against the discriminatory concept of this law.
