Coaching Clinics at Tennis Club Kordin

Malta Independent Sunday, 16 September 2012, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

The Tennis Club Kordin, one of the main clubs in Malta, thrives on the promotion of the game of tennis.

For this purpose, the club annually organises coaching courses for children and adults alike.

This year’s coaching clinic will commence on 7 October and comes to an end on 26 May 2013.

Throughout this period, three sessions of coaching will be held every Sunday morning between 9.30 am and 12.30pm. These include sessions for adults wishing to improve their game and for those who would like to take up the game for the first time.

The tennis club’s coaching team is made up of qualified coaches under whose guidance our budding tennis players will be entrusted.

Young children (4 to 8 years) are first introduced to the game through Mini-tennis classes.

These consist of mini-courts, taking up only one quarter of a full size tennis court per class, equipped with small nets and using red, orange and green spot balls.

These balls have a lower bounce compared to an ordinary tennis-ball thus giving the very young children more time to perceive the oncoming ball and ultimately hit it over the low net.

At the same time, young players have time to concentrate on enjoying the game by being more successful in their achievable tasks as well as being able to focus on the very basic techniques taught to them at that very early stage.

Applicants are informed that applications are to be filled in “ONLINE” through the club’s Web Site ‘www.tennisclubkordin.com’ under “coaching” by not later than 29 September.
