Residents in Sliema have been asked to voice their opinion on a proposed new one-way system in the Stella Maris area.

It is not easy to come up with reasonable comments unless we have access to reports that describe the present traffic and outline the impact of the proposed measures on the traffic flow in the area.

In the absence of such a report, a rational comment, one may add, is the well-known fact that in the case of inbound and outbound traffic, one-way systems increase circulation, queues, and pollution.
