I am wondering whether the GonziPN poster campaign is going bonkers – surely everyone knew what Joseph Muscat had said about the minimum wage. In fact, I had been amazed that both unions and employers had agreed with him. The UĦM and employers have always been on the side of the PN, after all!

Surely, with just the PN claiming that Dr Muscat was proposing freezing the minimum wage, the PN is out on a limb, all by itself. Who are we to believe? Experience tells me that the PN is in despair, that is why it has reacted that way. It’s like its Republican bedfellow in the US claiming that 47% of the US electorate are claimants of government benefits. No one is believing Governor Romney. Just as no one is believing GonziPN, except its diehard supporters.

I feel that no one with just a smattering of sense is believing whoever in the PN came up with the minimum wage claim. I wonder, was it Richard Cachia Caruana? The guy must have turned inert, from his indolent years in Brussels. The good life must have dulled his senses, if it was he who dreamed up the charge. However, the ultimate culprit is not RCC, but the Prime Minister himself. It was he, after all, who accepted to push that view, which is an obvious lie. It is just another example of faulty judgement on the part of Dr Gonzi.

What is also obvious to me is that the electoral campaign which has been launched, though the election date has not been announced, is turning indecent. And so far, it is the PN which is pushing indecency. So much for the PN’s uprightness!
