Once again, the coming weekend will see another referees exchange taking place as part of agreements continuously being reached with other European Football Associations.
This time, local referees will be travelling to Wales to officiate in their top league while Welsh match officials will be coming over to take charge of BOV Premier League matches.
Today, Elite referee Malcolm Spiteri together with Elite assistant referees Sammy Attard and Alexander Grech, and Elite referee Andre` Arciola as 4th Official, will be in charge of Prestatyn vs GAP Connahs’ Quay.
Tomorrow, Elite referee Andre` Arciola together with Elite assistant referees Sammy Attard and Alexander Grech, and Malcolm Spiteri as 4th Official, will be in charge of Airbus UK Broughton vs Aberystwyth Town.
Such an opportunity for top referees and assistant referees to officiate abroad is an avenue for further development. In fact Elite sssistant referee Alexander Grech will be making his international debut abroad, while Elite referee Malcolm Spiteri’s only other appearances in international football were two matches as 4th official.
Referees from Wales have alos been appointed for matches by the Malta FA.
Tomorrow, Richard Harrington, together with Assistant referees Daniel Beckett and Lewiss Edwards, and Bryn Markham-Jones as 4th Official, will be in charge of Rabat Ajax vs Sliema Wanderers at the National Stadium, Ta’ Qali (kick-off 3pm).
On Sunday, Bryn Markham-Jones, together with Assistant referees Daniel Beckett and Lewiss Edwards, and Richard Harrington as 4th Official, will be in charge of Tarxien Rainbows vs Birkirkara at the National Stadium, Ta’ Qali (kick-off 3pm).
