Marco Reus starred in Borussia Dortmund's 5-0 rout of Borussia Moenchengladbach, while Bayern Munich maintained its winning start to the Bundesliga with a 2-0 victory at Werder Bremen yesterday.

Reus scored twice against his former side, cutting through the defense to open the scoring in the 35th minute — five minutes before Neven Subotic made it 2-0 — and putting the result beyond doubt with a wonderful effort in the 70th, when he curled his shot over the helpless Marc-Andre ter Stegen and inside the far post.

Ter Stegen — who had made a number of impressive saves — retired injured shortly afterward and his replacement was powerless to prevent a rampant Dortmund side adding further goals as it sought to make amends for a lackluster start to the season.

Jakub Blaszczykowski set up Ilkay Guendogan to score in the 79th, and the Germany international returned the favor for Blaszczykowski to complete the scoring six minutes later.

In Bremen earlier, Luiz Gustavo curled an effort inside the left post in the 81st, and Mario Mandzukic sealed Bayern's win with his league-leading sixth goal two minutes later.

Artjoms Rudnevs' 20th-minute strike was enough for Hamburger SV to celebrate its 125th anniversary with a 1-0 win over Hannover.

Bayer Leverkusen enjoyed a 2-0 win at home over Greuther Fuerth, Stuttgart had a 2-0 win in Nuremberg, and Augsburg drew 0-0 at Hoffenheim, which had Sejad Salihovic sent off for a dangerous challenge late on.

Hoffenheim's players wore T-shirts in support of teammate Boris Vukcevic before their game. Vukcevic remained in a critical condition in a hospital after his car collided head on with a truck on Friday.

Bayern winger Franck Ribery came closest to breaking the deadlock early in the second half, the Frenchman bamboozling Clemens Fritz before striking the post.

Martin Harnik finally settled the issue in the 75th for Stuttgart's first win of the season.
