I think that PBS reporters – and all other journalists – should be very careful with the words they choose when they are reporting on serious events.
PBS journalist Maria Muscat last Friday described the situation developing in Qormi – where a man was threatening to commit suicide – as a reality show.
A man threatening to jump off a building is no “reality show”; it is a desperate situation, with a person’s life hanging in the balance. Ms Muscat should have been more considerate in the circumstances, sticking to reporting facts, rather than passing uncalled for comments.
