The first SmartCity 8km road race is being held next Sunday.

Some of the top local athletes taking part are Jonathon Balzan, Gerald Grech, Johann Galea, Camen Hili, Angele Sammut and Marisa Muscat

The race will kick start the running season for St Patrick’s AC. It starts at 8.30am.

This first edition of the road race will start from the SmartCity Malta car park in Ricasoli, proceed to Bighi, then on to Kalkara, down to Xghajra beach, and back to SmartCity Malta. For those who wish to participate in the event without competing for honours, St Patrick’s AC will also be organising a walkathon and a junior race, which will start after the main event – thus, creating something for the entire family.

The first three male and the first three female finishers will be presented with trophies, which have been sponsored by SmartCity Malta. The first finishers from both categories will also win a 2-night stay for two persons at the Hotel Ta’ Cenc in Gozo.
