When the Premier League resumes this evening with the first two matches in the seventh round, Hamrun Spartans will be seeking to remain on the winning track against bottom club Rabat Ajax while Floriana and Qormi will be seeking a return to victory after last week’s defeats.

In the first match, Hamrun will be facing Rabat Ajax, who together with Melita have just one point and therefore still seeking their first victory of the season.

The Spartans are coming fresh from their 3-1 win against Melita last week. That was an encouraging result after their 8-1 drubbing the previous week against Valletta.

Now the Spartans are hoping to extend their winning run so as to move to a mid-table position, ahead of the forthcoming fixtures tomorrow and on Sunday.

On their part, Rabat Ajax will be aiming for a first ever win in the Premier League. But they will certainly have to be at their best – and even somewhat luckier – to be able to halt the Spartans from registering a second consecutive win.

In the second match, both Qormi and Floriana will be looking to return to winning form after last week’s unimpressive showings which led to the Yellow Blacks going down 2-1 to Balzan and the Greens suffering a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Mosta.

Both teams will have to show improvement if they are to reach their target.
