Junior Trap shooter James Galea finished in top position yesterday after a shoot off with Alvin Vella to win The LTP Trap trophy, which was held at the The Malta Shooting Sport Federation (MSSF) shooting ranges at Bidnija.

This competition, organised by the MSSF was on a total of 125 clays trap, and a further 25 clays for the barrage finals.

James Galea Jr. placed 1st, with a total of 110 hits in the first phase, and a further 22 hits in the final barrage for a total of 132.

Alvin Vella also placed first with a total of 132 hits, 112 in the first phase and a further 20 clays in the final barrage.

A shoot-off was to decide the winner. James Galea Jr. hit 3 clays in the final shoot-off, thus placing first overall, whilst Alvin Vella hit 2 clays in the shoot-off, securing second place.

Third place was obtained by George Cassar, who hit 105 clays in the first phase and 21 in the final barrage for a total of 126 hits.

Nicky Carabott placed 4th with 103 hits in the first round, with a further 20 hits in the final barrage, for a total of 123.

Frank Scorfna placed 5th with 94 hits in the first round, and a further 13 in the final barrage, for a total of 107.
