Siggiewi followed up on their Pre-Season Cup victory with another win which came about from the second session onwards as Floriana opened up strongly to take a deserved advantage with David Camilleri netting a triple.

When Siggiewi rallied back it was tough times for the Greens as their opponents indulged in some fine play after the Greens had Chris Sammut with another trey.

A strong 14-2 run with a Peter Shoults triple took Siggiewi into their first lead. Floriana managed to overturn the score one more time but ripples from Clayton Agius and Alan Borg and a late 9-0 run had Siggiewi on a 43-37 favourable score at the interval.

Siggiewi did not relinquish their advantage again and Floriana had to do the chasing till the end of the encounter. Man of the match Shoults netted another trey as Siggiewi’s lead escalated.

The Greens made a belated surge with a Sassoun Saakian triple but they were still 50-65 behind when the last period began.

Sammut made a second trey for Floriana but Siggiewi were stronger in their finishes and they pushed the Greens further back in the score.

Floriana’s late pressing brought about a better score for them but Siggiewi were in no danger of losing this game as they kept a firm hold on it.

Marco matijevic poured in 26 points for the winners with Shoults just behind him on 24 points.

The Greens had their American Phillip Thomas on his best game yet putting in 27 points and Dirk Schembri contributed with 15 points.
