Nestlè has just announced that it has appointed Nectar Group as their sole distributors of their renowned ice-cream brands, namely Nestlé ice cream (also featured as Motta Ice Cream), Antica Gelateria del Corso and Buitoni Frozen foods as from 1st Janaury 2013.
Alfred Borg, Nestlè Malta Corporate Communications manager said: “the appointment of Nectar Group as our distributors marks a new and interesting business collaboration which is expected to streamline our distribution operations as well as bring more efficiency in the way we do business”.
“Our Ice Cream brands have been commercialised locally for a number of years, providing a new and exciting range summer after summer. With this move, we believe that we can be even closer to our customers’ service requirements and more focused on our consumers” he added.
In a short comment, Mr Roderick Abela, managing director of Nectar Group said “we are delighted with this new venture. Indeed, servicing an important company such as Nestlè is an important highlight for us as well as a vote of confidence in the reliable and efficient service with which we conduct our existing operations”.
Established in 1991, Nectar Group has grown to become one of Malta’s most successful importation and distribution group of companies. With an extensive distribution network its vast portfolio of food, beverage and confectionary products is widely-stocked in all leading outlets.
Food giant Nestlè has had a fully-owned Malta subsidiary company for almost a century. Over the years, the portfolio grew and today , Nestlè Malta has many brands that are households names to the Maltese people such as Kitkat, Perugina, Quality Street, After Eight, San Pellegrino, Nestle Vera, Panna, Friskies, Gourmet and Purina to name just a few.
Mr Janankiev, General Manager of Nestlé Malta, expressed confidence in this new venture and conveyed appreciation for the work done by the current distributors who will continue to represent Nestlé Malta till the end of 2012.
