Coinciding with the launch of Windows 8 in Malta, Microsoft's Malta office sponsored the President's Bike Ride in aid if l-Istrina 2012 held today, Sunday 28th October. Over 500 cyclists, including many children, wearing Windows 8 t-shirts, convened inside San Anton Palace's courtyard in Attard where they were greeted by George Abela, President of Malta who walked round the cyclists and thanked them for their participation and support.

A very hands-on President snapped photos of cyclists using a Microsoft tablet as they left the Palace courtyard on their way to Valletta.

"We were delighted to have had the opportunity to associate ourselves with this annual charity event particularly as sponsors with our newly launched Windows 8" said Louise Mifsud, Marketing Manager for Microsoft Malta who also presented the President with a Windows 8 Pro license.

"We wanted to associate ourselves with Istrina - an initiative where everyone can do his part," added Angela Micallef, Community Affairs Manager at Microsoft Malta.
