Sometimes I wonder who is responsible for our roads. Last week, driving to Siggiewi, a manhole cover had come undone. Drivers swerved to avoid and it could have been the cause of a bad accident. I drove back out of Siggiewi about two hours later and saw that it was still there. Just as I was doing that, a random motorist pulled over and put the manhole back into its place. While the person’s actions were commendable in a sense, it also created the risk of another accident. I really do despair.   Owen Jones Sliema
