When Valletta will be facing Balzan this evening, they will certainly be aiming to return to winning form.
In their last encounter last week, they surprisingly dropped two points in a 1-1 draw against bottom placed Rabat Ajax. This evening they take on Balzan and the citizens cannot afford to drop further points if they are to retain their four-point lead at the top of the standings.
It will not be an easy match, however, as Balzan have been doing quite well in their recent matches. In the last round, they drew 0-0 with Mosta after having defeated Sliema Wanderers 1-0 and now hope to obtain a positive result also against the citizens.
But Ivan Zammit, a former City player, knows that his boys’ task is much more difficult than it was against the Blues.
In today’s other match, Mosta will also be doing their best to return to winning form as they face lowly Melita in the first match on the programme.
Mosta also dropped two points in their last encounter – a goalless draw against Balzan. Today they will also be aiming for the three points.
But Melita will not be staring at them. Despite the fact that they were soundly beaten 4-0 by Sliema last week, the Amateurs know that they can rise to the occasion as they had done against Qormi in the previous encounter.
