John Paul Azzopardi will be holding his third exhibition in the next few weeks.

This year the National Museum of Fine Arts purchased one of his sculptures for their permanent collection. A few months ago he exhibited during the Malta Arts Festival in a collective exhibition titled Wicc Imb Wicc - Images of the self, exhibiting alongside local and foreign international artists.

John Paul also works on film; the last shooting he worked on was Sky TV's Sinbad as material dyer and costume breakdown effects/aging.

The exhibition, Decay, is a visual arts exhibition critically examining certain social conditions manifesting mainly in western culture. The exhibition does not only focus on issues that are already interwoven in our daily life, but also explores dissonances that in turn generate a deep suspicion leading into the further disintegration and degradation of socio-philosophical notions and their profound meanings.

Mass consumer society unconditionally dissolves meaning and simulates mechanised characteristics creating a hyper reality for contemporary individuals to dwell within. The sea of consumerism continuously creates new needs and interests leaving the dreamer to remain asleep. At 74 (The Splendid), Strait Street, Valletta, Malta.
