The Embassy of Malta in France and the Cultural Fund of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malta organised at the theatre Studio de l’Hermitage in Paris, a concert by the Maltese artist Renzo Spiteri.

The well attended concert, which was held on Monday 12 of November 2012, was a big success.  The music played during the evening was from Renzo’s CD entitled ‘Sounds of Silence’, - work which is inspired from the prehistoric temples of Malta.  The audience also appreciaited the interaction with Renzo who explained each and every piece of music and how he developed it.

In introducing the evening and the artist, the Ambassador of Malta, Pierre Clive Agius told the crowd that they were in for a discovery – that they were going to be transported for the evening at the very heart of the Mediterranean Sea were the oldest free standing temples in the world are found.  Malta, the Ambassador said, is a unique island spanning several millenia of history and which today makes of Malta a true crossroad of civilisations and dialogue as manifested recently in the 5+5 Summit.

The Ambassador said that Renzo’s work recalled in a way spiritual solitude – a solitude which seeks to communicate with eternity.

Following the concert, many were the members of the audience who expressed priase for Renzo’s work which was described as exciting, meditative and original.
