Anil Kumar Trigunayat, High Commissioner of India to Malta and Ambassador of India to Libya, visited SmartCity Malta this week together with the Indian Honorary Consulate, Mr Johann Cuschieri. The visit is the result of SmartCity’s investment in two of its current projects, SmartCity Malta and SmartCity Kochi.

Mr Triguyanat was interested in learning about the opportunities SmartCity Malta would offer those Indian companies seeking to invest in European markets. The myriad of possibilities this network of business townships would provide for companies seeking to expand their business abroad, was one of the key points of the discussion.

Mr Suleiman Al Riyami, the Country Director of SmartCity Malta, invited HE Ambassador Trigunayat for a brief presentation which was delivered by Mr Andrew Davies, Business Development Manager at SmartCity Malta, highlighting the unique state-of-the-art ICT in Malta. Mr Davies also spoke of the benefits and services the project offers together with the possibility of reciprocal networking opportunities. Mr Trigunayat and Mr Cuschieri were also given a tour of the premises.

While thanking the management of SCM for arranging his visit to this futuristic knowledge facility in tandem with the contours of the 21st century global paradigm, the Indian High Commissioner said, “I was very pleased to visit SmartCity Malta and am hopeful that Indian companies would find this one-stop modern facility useful for launching their knowledge-based presence and products directed towards European and North African markets from here.” Ambassador Triguyanat added that he foresees great business opportunities and ventures between SmartCity Malta and India – an acknowledged global leader in ICT, in the near future and looks forward to closely working together. He also wished the project a great success.
