Successful student lockdown at The Point

Malta Independent Wednesday, 28 November 2012, 13:01 Last update: about 11 years ago

Malta’s first ever Student Lockdown organised by The Point was an immense success.

For one night only The Point locked its doors and allowed only students to enter for a fun-filled night of shopping with live music, games and fun competitions.

Crowds of students turned up at The Point and benefited from the great discounts that were on offer for this one special night. Students quickly took to this new idea and joined in the fun and games that were organised especially for them. The most popular activity by far was the hot-dog eating competition which attracted crowds of students around the tables who cheered on and enthusiastically supported the participants.

Mr Edwin Borg, General Manager, The Point, expressed his satisfaction at the success of the event. He said that, although it was a new concept and a first for Malta, the initiative was very well received by students.  “It was extremely well attended and we feel that the mix between great discounts, games and competitions was a winning one, making the event a welcome addition to The Point’s Event calendar for the year.”
