SmartCity Malta has awarded the three top-performing students who read for the Computer Service Technician (A+ certification) course at the Computer Training Learning Centre in Kalkara.
The Mayor of Kalkara, Michael Cohen accompanied by Local Councillor, Roderick Mizzi and Executive Secretary, Sharon Galea Iriele recently visited SmartCity Malta together with the three students, Lydon Buhagiar, Aaron Mallia and Noel Aquilina where they were awarded a certificate by SmartCity Malta Country Director, Suleiman Al Riyami for their achievement. Thanks to the award, the three selected students may choose to enrol for a Cisco CCNA or a CompTIA Network+ course for the purpose of furthering their education and gaining a higher level of qualification.
Speaking about the award, Mr Al Riyami said that “It is our pleasure to award these students with this opportunity to further enhance their knowledge and expertise in the field of ICT. We are committed to supporting the Kalkara Local Council’s initiative to promote ICT within the Maltese community as it falls in our remit. Supporting educational initiatives that promote youth interests is a top priority for SmartCity Malta.”
Kalkara Mayor, Michael Cohen said that “This is an important achievement for our community, especially for these three students who have accepted the invitation from our Council to read for an advanced course in IT, which is being sponsored by SmartCity Malta. This will surely enhance our cooperation not only for the benefit of our students but also for our locality. I will personally see to it that these students are successful.”
The students expressed their gratitude for being presented with this opportunity and expressed their eagerness to start these courses and further their education in ICT.
