Adding sweet cheer

Malta Independent Friday, 7 December 2012, 19:34 Last update: about 14 years ago

Christmas is a time for giving and the ITS lecturers and students decided to do what they’re best at. They’re getting some scrumptious stuff prepared to be sold in aid of charity in the coming days.

The ITS lecturers include most of the ones who are involved in food preparation and they formed a great team with the added contribution of ITS students following the Food Preparation and Production course.

They decided to go the traditional way, producing a mountain of mince pies, almond macaroons and Christmas cakes. Although the emphasis was on quantity as the teaching staff and their students worked hard to achieve a high turnover, in typical ITS style the quality and finish of the products was not forgotten or diminished. After all if done for a good cause the products should be even better than usual.

All the items will be for sale during lunch and dinner at the Pembroke Suite on the ITS campus between the 17th and 21st December and the money collected will go towards L-Istrina funds by the Community Chest Fund. .

ITS believes not only in contributing towards the lesser privileged but it also feels that, when lecturers and students work together in a team, the long-term gain from such a relationship is most beneficial to all concerned. So make sure to go and buy some goodies because you surely deserve it and you’ll be adding to the Christmas cheer all around.
