Minister-of-failures Austin Gatt had boasted on Radio 101 that his wager, made some eight years ago, that “I am willing to bet that within 10 years all clothing factories will have closed”, materialised in two years, not 10 years!

If only Dr Gatt had been as correct in his prediction about his public transport reform, when he said “Minn ghada se jispicaw il-buzullotti!

But he was careful not to say that he was willing to “bet” any money!
