Volksbank’s Austrian Christmas Concert

Malta Independent Monday, 17 December 2012, 18:38 Last update: about 11 years ago

Volksbank Malta once again brought a bit of the Austrian Christmas spirit to Malta by inviting customers, business partners, all staff members and the German speaking community to join them at their annual Christmas Concert at the Salesian Theatre in Sliema.

"The concert, which was held under the patronage of Austrian Ambassador DDr. Petra Schneebauer, has become a fixed event for the Bank's associates," said Managing Director Herbert Skok. "Our customers and business associates, as well as the residents with Austrian and German background, enjoy it very much – it seems to become more popular every year."

To ensure the authenticity of the event Volksbank Malta invited musicians and singers from East Tyrol, where the tradition of families singing and making music together is still kept alive. The musicians played a mixture of traditional Christmas tunes from their home country as well as some more well- known international songs. The combination of the guitar, accordion and clarinet with the beautiful voices of the singers delighted the guests.

The guests were treated to some authentic Austrian Christmas sweets and a cup of freshly prepared mulled wine, which added to the Christmas atmosphere of the evening.

“The concert was once again very well attended by our customers, business partners and also by the members of the Austrian and German Community in Malta”, Mr. Skok said. “We are very proud to see that our guests enjoy the concert so much, and to receive such a positive feedback every year.”
