It’s really strange how on a small island like Malta, certain institutions are allowed to carry on in such a sorry state of affairs. For instance, our court’s can only be described as dysfunctional while law enforcement is hopelessly insufficient.

MEPA is always in the news for the wrong reasons and the same could be said for ARM’s Ltd. Arriva is proving to be a very expensive flop, contributing to the mass confusion we now have on our roads. Quite a large number of civil servants get away with doing as little as possible, when they show up for work at all.

Tax evasion in rampant and its common knowledge that, many people are claiming benefits illegally. We have huge problems of alcohol and drugs with both adults and minors and crime in general is definitely on increase, especially with domestic violence and robbery towards the elderly.

There is ample room for improvement in many other areas one could care to mention but the fact is that, no one in authority is ever held to account for their incompetence here, so therefore we can have nothing less but disorder and utter chaos. Keeping in mind that Malta is no larger than a small city, things are definitely not as they ought to be and unless we begin to realize this, things can only get worse.
